Adapted from the 1992 film starring Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn, Death Becomes Her follows two frenemies, Madeline Ashton and Helen Sharp, who take an eternal youth potion in order to one-up each other forever, but things go awry. Megan Hilty and Jennifer Simard were both nominated for 2025 Tony Awards for Best Actress for their performances as Madeline and Helen, respectively.
The show's other nominations include Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical (for Marco Pennette), Best Original Score (for Noel Carey and Julia Mattison), and Best Direction and Best Choreography (both for Christopher Gattelli).
The main Death Becomes Her Broadway cast also includes Christopher Sieber as Ernest Menville, Grammy Award winner Michelle Williams as Viola Van Horn, Taurean Everett as Chagall, and Josh Lamon as Stefan.
