Jake Pedersen joins 'Wicked' Broadway cast
How wonderful! Jake Pedersen joins the Broadway cast of Wicked as Boq beginning August 14.
He previously played the role on Wicked's national tour and now replaces Michael Wartella, who plays his final performance on August 12.
Pedersen joins a cast that also includes Alyssa Fox as Elphaba, McKenzie Kurtz as Glinda, Jordan Litz as Fiyero, John Dossett as The Wizard, Tony Award-winner Michele Pawk as Madame Morrible, Kimber Elayne Sprawl as Nessarose, and William Youmans as Doctor Dillamond.
Wicked, by Winnie Holzman (book) and Stephen Schwartz (score), has played the Gershwin Theatre since 2003. The musical tells the origin story of the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz. Here known as Elphaba, she began as friends with Glinda the Good Witch until the citizens of Oz pitted them against each other.
