'Home' sets complete Broadway cast
The first revival of the Tony Award-nominated 1979 play by Samm-Art Williams will play a limited engagement at the Todd Haimes Theatre beginning in May.
Welcome home! Roundabout Theatre Company has set the complete cast and creative team for its production of Samm-Art Williams's Home. Performances run at the Todd Haimes Theatre from May 17 to July 21, with opening night on June 5.
The cast includes Tory Kittles as Cephus Miles, Brittany Inge as Woman One/Pattie Mae Wells, and Stori Ayers as Woman Two.
The creative team, led by Tony Award-winning director Kenny Leon, includes set designer Arnulfo Maldonado, costume designer Dede Ayite, lighting designer Allen Lee Hughes, and sound designer Justin Ellington.
First staged on Broadway in 1980 after a 1979 world premiere with the Negro Ensemble Company, Home follows a man whose world turns upside down when his sweetheart goes to college and marries another man. In this coming-of-age story, he goes on a quest for another place or person to call home.
The 2024 production is Home's first Broadway revival, and it was nominated for the Tony for Best Play in 1980.
