The Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will continue to make magic in New York this fall. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will resume performances at the Lyric Theatre from November 12, and will now be presented in one part, rather than two.

"Given the challenges of remounting and running a two-part show in the U.S. on the scale of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and the commercial challenges faced by the theatre and tourism industries emerging from the global shutdowns, we are excited to be able to move forward with a new version of the play that allows audiences to enjoy the complete Cursed Child adventure in one sitting eight times a week," the show's producers said in a statement.

Casting for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is to be confirmed. When the Broadway production was forced to suspend performances in March 2020, the cast included James Snyder (as Harry Potter), Jenny Jules (as Hermione Granger), Paul Thornley (as Ron Weasley), Diane Davis (as Ginny Potter), James Romney (as Albus Potter), Aaron Bartz (as Draco Malfoy), Brady Dalton Richards (as Scorpius Malfoy), and Nadia Brown (as Rose Granger-Weasley).

The eighth story in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child received its world premiere at the Palace Theatre in London in 2016. The Harry Potter play then transferred to Broadway in 2018, winning six Tony Awards including Best Play.

In a review of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, New York Theatre Guide wrote, "Even though this play was written by Jack Thorne, it has her finger prints all over it. Under the spectacular direction of John Tiffany we are included, indeed, we are beckoned, into the world of witches. As observers only, of course, but that is almost enough."

Broadway productions are now beginning to open across New York, after a year of suspended performances. Springsteen on Broadway began performances on June 26, with Pass Over set to open in August. Find out more about Broadway shows reopening here
