Fox Stage Productions and producer Kevin McCollum have now revealed the lead creatives for the Broadway-bound musical Mrs. Doubtfire, based on the much loved Golden Globe-winning film of the same name.

John O'Farrell and Karey Kirkpatrick have been enlisted to write the book for the musical, whilst Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick will provide the score. The trio all earned Tony Award nominations in 2015 for their Broadway debuts as the writing team behind Something Rotten!

In addition, four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks will direct the production, with further creative team members to be announced at a later date.

Mr. Zaks has 23 Broadway credits as a director and was most recently represented on the Great White Way with the acclaimed revival of Hello, Dolly!, as well as the Broadway premieres of Meteor Shower and A Bronx Tale: The Musical.

Kevin McCollum and Bob Cohen of Fox Stage Productions issued the following joint statement: “Mrs. Doubtfire is such a beloved story, both laugh-out-loud hilarious and extremely moving. Getting this team together and crafting Mrs. Doubtfire for the stage has been pure joy. We can’t wait to get into production.”

Synopsis: "Based on the 1993 Twentieth Century Fox film of the same title and the best-selling novel, “Alias Madame Doubtfire” by Anne Fine, Mrs. Doubtfire follows the journey of a struggling actor who will go to any length to be with his children after he loses custody in a bitter divorce, disguising himself as a matronly British woman and taking a job as their nanny, in his ex-wife’s home."

The movie "Mrs. Doubtfire" was released in November 1993, becoming the highest-grossing comedy of that year with global sales of $441,286,195 at the worldwide box office. The film went on to win the Golden Globe in January 1994 in the category of "Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy", whilst its star, the late Robin Williams, took home the Golden Globe for "Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy". The cast also included Sally Field, Pierce Brosnan, and Harvey Fierstein.

Fox Stage Productions is also actively developing stage adaptations of The Devil Wears Prada, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Secret Life of Bees, Working Girl, and All About Eve, among others.

A timeline for the Broadway production of Mrs. Doubtfire, as well as venue and casting information, will be announced in due course.
