Complete cast confirmed for world premiere of The Visitor at Public Theater
The musical's world premiere is set to begin performances on March 24, 2020.
Ahead of performances of The Visitor starting next month, the full casting for the musical's world premiere has been announced. The Visitor will begin performances at the Public Theater's Newman Theater on March 24, 202, ahead of an official opening on April 15, with performances running through May 10, 2020.
Alysha Deslorieux joins the company as Zainab, replacing the previously announced Joaquina Kalukango, who had to withdraw from The Visitor due to scheduling conflicts.
The full cast of The Visitor includes Jacqueline Antaramian (as Mouna), Robert Ariza (as Ensemble), Anthony Chan (as Ensemble), Delius Doherty (as Ensemble), C.K. Edwards (as Ensemble), Will Erat (as Ensemble), Marla Louissaint (as Ensemble), Ahmad Maksoud (as Ensemble), Dimitri Joseph Moïse (as Ensemble), Takafumi Nikaido (as Ensemble/Drummer), Bex Odorisio (as Ensemble), David Hyde Pierce (as Walter), Paul Pontrelli (as Ensemble), Lance Roberts (as Ensemble) and Ari'el Stachel (as Tarek).
Synopsis: "Widowed and living alone, Walter is a college professor whose life has lost a sense of purpose. When he discovers two young undocumented immigrants living in his New York apartment, the drummer Tarek and jewelry maker Zainab, Walter finds himself in the middle of their battle to stay in an America that's lost its better angels. The Visitor is an unforgettable new musical about friends and lovers caught between two worlds."
The Visitor features an original book by Kwame Kwei-Armah and Brian Yorkey, with music and lyrics by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, respectively. Direction is by Daniel Sullivan, with choreography by Lotin Latarro, scenic design by David Zinn, costume design by Toni-Leslie James, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, sound design by Brian Ronan.
