Cast as cast can. Mia Chung's Catch as Catch Can has set the cast for its Off-Broadway production. Performances run from October 14 to November 20 at Playwrights Horizons, with opening night on November 1.

The cast includes Cindy Cheung as Lon and Daniela, Jon Norman Schneider as Roberta and Robbie, and Rob Yang as Theresa and Tim. Each actor plays a parent and their adult child, one man and one woman each. Furthermore, though the characters are Irish and Italian American, this production features an all-Asian cast.

Daniel Aukin directs Catch as Catch Can. The creative team also includes set designer Matt Saunders, costume designer Enver Chakartash, lighting designer Marika Kent, and sound designer Bray Poor.

Catch as Catch Can follows two suburban families, the Phelans and Lavecchias. The Phelans' son returns home after years, and the news that he's engaged triggers a crisis among the families that reshapes their lives.

The show had its world premiere with Page 73 Productions in 2018. The 2022 production features a revised script which, along with the casting, highlights the play's themes of how identity is fluid and how stereotypes are reinforced.
