Maggie Siff, Julie Halston to lead 'Breaking the Story' Off-Broadway cast

The world-premiere play written by Alexis Scheer, directed by Jo Bonney, and presented by Second Stage Theater, will play at the Tony Kiser Theater in May.

Extra, extra! Second Stage Theater has named the complete cast for its upcoming production of Breaking the Story, a new play by Alexis Scheer. The show will play at the Tony Kiser Theater starting May 15, with opening night on June 4.

The complete cast of Breaking the Story includes Tala Ashe as Nikki, Geneva Carr as Sonia, Julie Halston as Gummy, Louis Ozawa as Bear, Gabrielle Policano as Cruz, Matthew Saldívar as Fed, and Maggie Siff as Marina.

The creative team, led by director Jo Bonney, includes scenic designer Myung Hee Cho, costume designer Emilio Sosa, lighting designer Jeff Croiter, sound designer Darron L West, projection designer Elaine J. McCarthy, and composer Dan Ryan.

Breaking the Story centers on Marina, a foreign war correspondent ready to put that dangerous life behind her as she prepares for her wedding and a lifetime achievement award ceremony. But as she tries to start this new chapter, she must reckon with the hold her career and war still have on her.
