1.

Celebrities are headed for the London stage.

Following the quieter summer months, September saw a raft of high-profile openings — and, with them, high-profile stars. Christine Baranski and Richard E. Grant (who is currently infuriating viewers in the UK TV series of The Traitors) star in West End favorite Hay Fever, while Gillian Anderson and The Morning Show’s Billy Crudup are dazzling audiences in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Meanwhile, the Stranger Things kids Noah Schnapp and Gaten Matarazzo started previews simultaneously in Affluenza and RENT, respectively. Nina Hoss and Cate Blanchett have a couple of weeks left in Electra/Persona at the National Theatre, while the Tilda Swinton-starring, sold-out Man to Man wraps up performances on October 24.

A new Desperate Housewife is starting in The Devil Wears Prada.

Vanessa Williams has starred as the fearsome Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada since performances began at the end of 2024. But it is time to pass on the baton, and who better to continue her reign than fellow Desperate Housewife Teri Hatcher. The James Bond star begins performances on October 20.

The hit comedy musical by Tye Blue, Marla Mindelle and Constantine Rousouli, which explores what really happened the night the Titanic sank, will be docking on January 3, 2027. But fear not, you can still catch this laugh-a-minute show on tour, with the musical’s current Ruth, Myra DuBois, continuing in the role. Happy trails to the ship of dreams!
