Everyone’s favorite little bear dominated at the Olivier Awards, picking up wins for Best New Musical, Best Director, and three of the four musical acting categories. And the word on the street is that the heartwarming musical is eyeing a Broadway transfer in 2027 — so New York, please look after this bear.

Jeanine Tesori and David Lindsay-Abaire’s Best Musical Tony Award winner, about a teenager with a rare aging condition, will have its U.K. premiere at Hampstead Theatre with Olivier winner Maria Friedman in the title role. The talented actor also directs, having revived the Tony-winning Merrily We Roll Along starring Jonathan Groff and Daniel Radcliffe in 2023.

Tony nominee Joy Woods is West End-bound.

Joy Woods, seen on Broadway in The Notebook and Gypsy, will make her West End debut as Sally Bowles opposite musical theatre star Jamie Muscato as the Emcee in Rebecca Frecknall’s production of Cabaret, which is continuing its run at the Kit Kat Club at the Playhouse Theatre. See the Tony and Grammy nominee on stage in London from May 25.

Tony nominee Joy Woods is West End-bound.

We’re heading Into The Woods once more this fall.

Director Jordan Fein picked up a Best Revival Olivier Award for the second year in a row (following last year’s Fiddler on the Roof) with his production of Sondheim’s Into The Woods at the Bridge Theatre. In a continuation of that excitement, and a first for the Bridge Theatre, the show announced it will transfer to the West End this fall, with Kate Fleetwood reprising her role as the Witch.

An all-female Glengarry Glen Ross heads to London.

David Mamet’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Glengarry Glen Ross will open at London’s Old Vic this summer, with an all-female cast including Games of Thrones star Indira Varma and Rosa Salazar (High Noon, Alita: Battle Angel). Together, they will bring to life this story about desperate real estate salesmen in Chicago who cheat, fight, and steal to come out on top. The play was revived by Patrick Marber on Broadway in 2025, and now, he brings his directorial eye to the London production.

Looking ahead: Beetlejuice finally arrives in the West End.

The Ghost with the Most will wreak havoc at the West End’s Prince Edward Theatre from next month, with David Fynn in the title role. He follows in the footsteps of fellow School of Rock alumnus Alex Brightman, who played the mischievous ghost on Broadway in 2019. If you’re excited to finally see the comedy horror musical in London, don’t forget to say Beetlejuice’s name three times!
