In ANON: a tempest at our kitchen table off Broadway, Washburn explores how how hyperonline lifestyles fade the line between reality and fantasy, and how optional it is becoming to live in the present with our neighbors, and with our own selves.

In this newest work, Washburn is peering deep into America's soul, blending themes of technology, political fracture, and increasing isolation. Washburn is known for taking on topics that seem simplistic and giving them a sharp, theatrical edge. That makes her a great match for Kauffman, who has made a career of championing and directing bold, new American plays.

ANON: a tempest at our kitchen table plays for a limited run this fall, starting September 25 at The Newman Mills Theatre at the Robert W. Wilson MCC Theatre Space. With shows like Birthright and Caroline, MCC has proven itself to be a rigorous chronicler of today's issues. The cast of this work also features a class of top-tier theatre performers, including Jeff Biehl, Crystal Finn, Andrew Garman, Izabel Mar, and Jeremy Shamos.
