Writer Carey Sharpe stars as the vampire Valerie opposite Grammy Award nominee Dru DeCaro, who has performed with acclaimed artists including Snoop Dogg, Will.I.Am, John Legend, Ice Cube, Faith Hill, and others.
Coming to Theatre 555 on 42nd Street for a limited run this February and March, Blood/Love off Broadway stars promises audiences a decadent spectacle and blood-pumping score. In Blood/Love, meet the world’s first vampire: for a thousand years, Valerie ruled the night, but now she’s thirsty for more.
At The Crimson, a sultry nightclub, Valerie — the former queen of the underworld — looks for a life beyond eternal bloodshed. But is she ready for the pains of the heart? Her endless nights and life take a turn when she meets a mortal soul with his own devilish secret. Soon, she faces a challenge like none before.
Hunter Bird (Masquerade) directs, and Jonathan Platero and Oksana Platero (Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance) and Natalie Malotke choreograph. The creative team also includes music supervisor Matt Hinkley, music director Ben Covello, set designer Jason Ardizzone-West, costume designers Alex and Juli Abene, lighting designer Japhy Weideman, sound designer Jessica Paz, projection designers 59 Studio, and prop designer Lauren Page Russell.
