About Amid Falling Walls

From the company who brought you Fiddler On The Roof in Yiddish and HARMONY.
Amid Falling Walls (Tsvishn Falnkike Vent) is a groundbreaking musical that pays homage to the perseverance of the human spirit during one of the most devastating moments of humanity. The performance is composed of songs that were written and performed in ghettos, clandestine cabarets and theaters, forced labor camps, and partisan encampments. The songs in this never-before-heard collection serve as eyewitness testimony and provide insight into the Jewish response as the crisis was unfolding. The production celebrates the resilience and hope of those who endured this defining chapter of history, portrayed through the power of Yiddish song. Presented at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, this theatrical journey offers an unforgettable experience, connecting audiences with history and the indomitable spirit of humankind.

Relevant, Intense, Intelligent, Great singing, Thought-provoking

See it if you would like to hear a variety of Yiddish songs, with great supporting projections, on how the Jews fought back in Eastern Europe.

Don’t see it if you want a happy musical, don't like a show that is 90% sung in Yiddish. Sit back enough to catch the subtitles - some are fast.

Deeply emotional, Intelligent, Profound, Great singing, Great acting

See it if You appreciate the ability of the Human Spirit to rise above the Tragedies of Ghettos & Concentration Camps through Poetry, Music & Dance.

Don’t see it if You do not like theater about the Holocaust spoken in Yiddish with English Subtitles and minimal staging.

Don’t see it if you have no interest in Jewish, Yiddish, or Holocaust themed shows, prefer plays, dislike supertitles, or can’t get to the Jewish Museum

Delightful, Ambitious, Absorbing

See it if Very well done, and the actors really give it their all. Very relevant with ever-rising antisemitism as well.

Don’t see it if The supertitles are a bit cumbersome, most of the time you find yourself looking above the stage rather than at it.
