In Zoe Sarnak and Rachel Bonds's new musical, Lila and her band, The Lonely Few, are doing just fine at Paul’s Juke Joint, their hometown bar in a small Kentucky town. But is local fame enough for this band? A newcomer may hold the keys to their next chapter: When an established musician, Amy, thinks The Lonely Few has potential, she invites them on the road to chase bigger audiences, adventures, and dreams. Along the way, love blossoms between Lila and Amy, offering opportunities and challenges on the road. A heart-stirring new musical about the forces that both pull us from home and also bring us back, The Lonely Few features a rich rock score that gives voice to our heart's grandest desires.

The premiere features Broadway talent including Tony Award winner Lauren Patten, Tony nominee Damon Daunno, and Broadway veteran Taylor Iman Jones. Equally bright stars stage the show: Trip Cullman, a new play creator known for his successful works at Playwrights Horizons (Unknown Soldier) and MCC (Yen) co-directs the musical with Ellenore Scott, who has choreographed for the hit television series So You Think You Can Dance and many recent New York stage productions, including Titanique, Little Shop of Horrors, and Funny Girl.

Off-Broadway theatres often produce works that go on to lead bigger lives, so be among the first to see this new musical. Experience The Lonely Few off Broadway at MCC for a limited run — tickets to The Lonely Few will be available soon.

Atmospheric, fun, and quirky, Talented cast, Thin plot and cliched book, Immersive staging, Gorgeous music and singing

See it if a fan of the cast; like intimate, loud, raucous rock-show-meets-ballad-style shows; want to see a new musical that feels like a concert.

Don’t see it if uncomfortable with or bothered by loud music that sometimes drowns out the singing; homophobic; you need a fresh story.
