About Love Actually? The Unauthorized Musical Parody

From the creators of The Office! A Musical Parody and Friends! A Musical Parody comes Love Actually? The Unauthorized Musical Parody. This spoof on the Christmas rom-com is opening Off-Broadway at the Jerry Orbach Theater at the Theater Center. Love Actually? The Unauthorized Musical Parody tickets are available on New York Theatre Guide now.

The Love Actually? musical follows the movie's nine couples — and one jewelry salesman — in their various tales of romance. Among the characters are a man who falls for his best friend's wife, the newly elected Prime Minister who falls for a member of his staff, two co-stars who can easily be passionate with each other on screen but not in real life, and a rock-and-roll legend who skips an Elton John party to spend time alone with his manager. All the couples' stories intertwine in various ways, and they all come together at one point or another at London's Heathrow Airport.

The film features a starry cast including Keira Knightley, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Laura Linney, Alan Rickman, Billy Bob Thornton, Liam Neeson, Martin Freeman, and more. After receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film endeared audiences and is now widely regarded as a modern classic Christmas film. The musical parody takes the beloved characters and plot and sets them to new, hilarious tunes like "Keira Knightly Actually," "A Joni Mitchell CD? (For Your Continued Emotional Education)," "The Lament of Laura Linney," and "The 11 O'Clock Grand Gesture Number."

Like the movie's plot, performances of Love Actually? begin just about five weeks before Christmas. This year's Off-Broadway run marks the second engagement of Love Actually? The Unauthorized Musical Parody in New York after the musical premiered there in 2019. The show is also making its Chicago debut in November 2021.
