A midsummer night's dream turns into day, and Fairycakes will soon go away. Douglas Carter Beane's new comedy play will end its run at the Greenwich House Theater on November 21, just over a month before the previously scheduled end date of January 2, 2022.

Fairycakes, which began performances on October 14, mashes up characters from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream with classic fairytale characters for one adventure in an enchanted forest. With the help of the forest fairies' mischievous magic, the characters — including Cinderella, Geppetto, Cupid, and more — fall in and out of love in the unlikeliest of pairings.

The cast includes Mo Rocca, Sabatino Cruz, Kristolyn Lloyd, Jackie Hoffman, Kuhoo Verma, Ann Harada, Z Infante, Chris Myers, Jamen Nanthakumar, Julie Halston, Arnie Burton, and Jason Tam. The New York Theatre Guide review says of the cast, "There's joy in seeing such a gorgeous array of theatrical royalty over-acting their hearts out, prancing around in silly costumes and, by all appearances, just thoroughly enjoying themselves."
