Death of a Salesman follows an aging salesman who has spent his whole life chasing the American Dream of riches. Toward the end of his life, though, he must come to terms with the fact that he has not only failed, but also played a part in his own unhappiness by fracturing his relationships with his family. Miller's play has been on Broadway five times before, winning the Best Play Tony Award and the Pulitzer Prize upon its premiere and winning the Best Revival Tony three times thereafter.

The 2022 Broadway production of Death of a Salesman premiered in London, where Clarke won an Olivier Award and Pierce got a nomination for their performances. Directors Marianne Elliott and Miranda Cromwell also won Oliviers for their work; Cromwell returns to direct the Broadway transfer.
