Owen Campbell, Harry Richardson to star in 'A Ghost in Your Ear' off Broadway

The "headphone horror" play, written and directed by Jamie Armitage, will play a limited run at Audible's Minetta Lane Theatre starting at the end of the month.

Scary good news: Casting has been set for Audible Theater's production of A Ghost in Your Ear off Broadway, running at the Minetta Lane Theatre from September 29 to November 15.

Owen Campbell (X) and Harry Richardson (The Gilded Age) will star in writer/director Jamie Armitage's immersive play set at a recording session for a horror audiobook. As an actor records the book, he starts to get haunted in real life, and audiences experience every chilling sound close up through headphones.

“This play is different from what I've done before on stage, and making my debut at Audible's Minetta Lane Theatre couldn't be more exciting," Campbell said in a statement. "There's nothing quite like a roomful of people jumping at the same scare — that's live theatre at its best, and we can't wait for New York audiences to experience A Ghost in Your Ear.”

Richardson said in a statement, “Theatre is incredible for bringing everyone together for a shared experience, and this is one that will be very spooky indeed! The creative team have crafted this terrifying show where sound is a powerful character. Experiencing it live with a binaural mic and headphones enhances the theatrical experience to be sonically unique and unlike anything else.”

The creative team includes sound designers Ben & Max Ringham, set and costume designer Anisha Fields, and lighting design Ben Jacobs.

A Ghost in Your Ear makes its NYC debut after an acclaimed run in London earlier this year. After the in-person run, Audible will release A Ghost in Your Ear as an audio drama on its online platforms at a later date.
