Tony Award winner Ari'el Stachel will bring his solo play Other off Broadway this fall, running from October 8 to December 6 at the Greenwich House Theater. Opening night is October 19.

Other is an autobiographical show that sees Stachel wrestle with his Yemeni Jewish mixed ethnicity and the many roles he’s juggled both on and off stage. With personal and humorous storytelling, Stachel embodies many characters from his life and shares his journey with identity, anxiety, and success.

In addition to TV roles on shows like Blue Bloods, Jessica Jones, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Stachel is best known for his Broadway-debut performance in The Band’s Visit, winning the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical in 2018.

He debuted Other, previously titled Out of Character, at Berkeley Rep in California in 2023. He took the production to Washington D.C.’s Theatre J, co-presented with Mosaic Theater Company, and the Berkshire Theatre Festival in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, in 2025.

Tony Taccone, who staged those iterations, returns to direct. Other also features scenic design by Afsoon Pajoufar, lighting and projection design by Alexander V. Nichols, and sound design by Madeleine Oldham.
