Girls Really Listen to Me
Madeleine is pretty much the worst sixteen year old you can meet. Living on the affluent Upper East Side of Manhattan, she’s convinced that her actions have no real consequences (her family have been wealthy for generations so nothing bad will ever happen to her...right?). But when her new friend goes off-grid after a party, she’s forced to look at the bubble she’s grown up in in a harsher light.

Nova follows a Nigerian-American comedian navigating desire, pussy and power. Inspired by the tales and trials of noted provocateur Giacomo Casanova.

Girls Really Listen to Me
From her Upper East Side bedroom, fifteen year old queen bee Madeline reigns over her group chats, doom scrolls, and gets ready for a night out that isn’t exactly what it seems. If you’re lucky, she might let you in on what’s really going on beneath the surface of her privileged world.

Written and performed by Obehi Agbede, Nova follows a Nigerian-American artist whose hyperfixation on Italian provocateur Giacomo Casanova reveals her relationship to pleasure and power in surprising ways. Directed by Caitlin Sullivan.
