About The Other Place

See this daring, riveting, and critically acclaimed new play that stars House of the Dragon's Golden Globe Award nominee, Emma D’Arcy. A contemporary adaptation of the Greek tragedy Antigone, Alexander Zeldin's new play The Other Place comes to New York City hot off of its celebrated London run where it earned five star reviews from Financial Times and WhatsOnStage.

The Other Place plays for a limited run only this winter at The Shed in New York City. In The Other Place, two sisters reunite at the family home after a period of estrangement, only coming together because of the loss of their father. Meanwhile, their uncle is attempting a fresh start, but one of the sisters threatens to shatter this peace, demanding justice for the pain she carries. A play that circles guilt, grief, and greed, The Other Place reveals a family battling it out and going to war over their dreams of the future — and their haunted visions of the past.

Alongside global superstar D'Arcy, The Other Place features an outstanding cast of British stage and TV talent, including Lee Braithwaite (Cowbois), Lorna Brown (The Witcher), Jerry Killick (The Confessions), Emmy Award winner Tobias Menzies (The Crown, Game of Thrones), and Ruby Stokes (Lockwood & Co).

Zeldin, who also directs the play, is also a star unto himself: in 2024 he was made a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Minister of Culture. The play also features music by Yannis Philippakis (Foals) and received glowing reviews: Financial Times called it a "brilliant compound of the ordinary and the eerie,” and The Guardian said it is "astonishing for its taut, riveting naturalism."
