Wanted in New York is a true legacy story: it features book and lyrics by Angelica Chéri (a real-life descendant of the Sisters Clarke) plus music by Ross Baum. Obie Award winner and Tony Award nominee Stevie Walker-Webb (Ain’t No Mo’ on Broadway) directs this fresh musical, which features choreography from Chelsey Arce.
In Wanted, two sisters disguise themselves to fight for what is rightfully theirs in post-Civil War Texas. Resisting racism and persecution, the two sisters move forward to clear their name and fight for their mother's honor. Audiences can expect a sweeping American story in this moving and smart musical, which was previously titled Gun & Powder during its acclaimed Paper Mill Playhouse run.
