A Freeky Introduction debuted at Atlantic’s (Writ)ual MixFest, an annual free reading series exploring and celebrating the abundance of diverse stories in the theatre, in 2023. Now, the theatre company that launched hits like Spring Awakening, Kimberly Akimbo, and Days of Wine and Roses alongside edgy new plays, welcomes back the Freeky team, NSangou Njikam (Syncing Ink) and Dennis A. Allen II (a Launch Commission writer at the theatre).

Njikam, the writer, also stars in this show, directed by Allen II, that promises a singular theatrical event. Everybody talks about freedom, but few know how to get there. That’s because they don’t know their Freek. But don’t worry: Freeky Dee is coming to the party with a mix of poetry and music, and of course a rocking DJ: DJ Monday Blue, a Brooklyn-based musician who plays jams that unlock memories and create new ones.
