What is A Sign of the Times about?

Set against the backdrop of 1965 America, A Sign of the Times the musical explores a time of significant upheaval, with iconic songs like "Downtown," "Gimme Some Lovin'," and "Rescue Me" underscoring it all. Amid the Vietnam War, burgeoning civil rights and women's liberation movements, and the vibrant changes in New York City, the ambitious Cindy arrives in town, trying to find her place. Audiences are immersed in the ‘60s through Cindy's eyes as she explores her passion for photography, capturing the era's history.

The show, with a book by Lindsey Hope Pearlman based on Richard J. Robin's original story, is directed by Gabriel Barre and promises a nostalgic trip back to an unforgettable decade.

Entertaining, Great writing, Great staging, Great acting, Great singing

See it if you identify with the 60's era struggles and music - this presentation is loaded with all that was happening and has great choreography.

Don’t see it if you do not like music of the 60's or would appreciate a story written to include said music. Slight sound adjustments needed.

Great singing, dancing & costumes, Clever, Colorful, Ebullient, Delightful

See it if Wonderful singing, dancing & costumes. Hokey romanticized tour through 60’s issues. Fun upbeat tone. Ends on a high.

Don’t see it if You don’t like anachronism. The show injects modern culture into 60’s sexism & race relations. This creates a kind of irony.
