See it if Boy likes girl and tells her. Girl likes boy and pretends otherwise. A snake oil salesman brings them together on accident. It's funny af.

Don’t see it if Honestly, it's the most FUN opera I've ever seen. If you need a tragic end, this won't scratch that itch, but it's fun start to finish.

See it if you’d like to see a light and cute opera at the Met, with beautiful staging and production. A feast to one’s eyes, ears and heart.

Don’t see it if you like drama and serious plots. Or prefer a more modern/contemporary aesthetic. Some scenes are really like a living renaissance painting

See it if Donizetti's bel canto crowd-pleaser does just that in Bartlett Sher's elegant production Well sung esp by the men w/Anduaga in Met debut

Don’t see it if Crowd scenes esp around Dr Dulcamara's travelling salesman can often feel cramped & village action a little diffuse but nothing detrimental

See it if you want to see a funny opera full of love and great music, extremely well sung and acted by a believably attractive cast - just a delight!

Don’t see it if you don’t like grand opera or think real opera has to be tragic, or are a curmudgeon who hates love. Or have a phobia about weird hats
