Cornelia Street Tickets
Cornelia Street Information
The world-premiere musical Cornelia Street will go up with Atlantic Theater Company in winter 2023. Check back for information on Cornelia Street tickets on New York Theatre Guide.
The Cornelia Street musical takes place at a restaurant on the title Manhattan road, located in the West Village neighborhood. The restaurant, owned by Jacob Towney, is a go-to spot for local wanderers and outsiders, and Jacob himself has called it home for a long time. It's also failing. He wants to save the restaurant in order to support his daughter's future beyond Cornelia Street — can he?
The original story of Cornelia Street off Broadway is by Simon Stephens, the Tony Award-winning playwright of the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time stage adaptation. His other plays include Heisenberg, which starred Mary-Louise Parker on Broadway, and Morning Sun, which played off Broadway in 2021, starring Edie Falco.
Stephens once again teams up with Mark Eitzel, who wrote the music and lyrics for Cornelia Street. Eitzel and Stephens previously co-wrote Song From Far Away and Marine Parade, both of which went up in Europe. He was the frontman of the band American Music Club, and he is a recipient of Rolling Stone's Songwriter of the Year award.
Directing Cornelia Street in New York is Neil Pepe, who was represented on Broadway in 2022 with the Tony-nominated American Buffalo revival. He earned a Best Direction nomination himself, and his other Broadway directing credits include Hands on a Hardbody and A Life in the Theatre. As Atlantic Theater Company's artistic director, he has shepherded many Off-Broadway productions that have gone on to Broadway, including Kimberly Akimbo, Spring Awakening, and The Band's Visit.
Though the Cornelia Street musical shares a name with a popular Taylor Swift song, the two are unaffiliated.
