About Le Nozze di Figaro

Conductor Joana Mallwitz makes her Met debut leading two extraordinary casts in Mozart’s comic masterpiece. Bass-baritones Michael Sumuel and Luca Pisaroni star as the clever valet Figaro, opposite sopranos Olga Kulchynska and Rosa Feola as his betrothed, the wily maid Susanna.

Baritone Joshua Hopkins and bass-baritone Adam Plachetka alternate as the skirt-chasing Count, sopranos Federica Lombardi and Jacquelyn Stucker (in her Met debut) trade off as his anguished wife, and mezzo-sopranos Marianne Creba.

Delightful, Funny, Great staging, Great singing, Entertaining

See it if you'd enjoy fun at the opera with disguised dressing as relationships are tested among the main characters all to the wonderful Mozart score

Don’t see it if you want a serious love story or the 3 hour 30 minute length are not for you.

Marriage is one of the greatest comedic operas - full stop - this is solid if not inspired production

See it if Mozart at height of his powers, celestial music; sharp satire upper classes sexual mores; solid cast, Ying Fang exceptional Susanna

Don’t see it if set & staging pedestrian; tho this is NOT a breakout production, who cares since this is a jewel among operas?
