Neal Brennan: Unacceptable Tickets
Neal Brennan: Unacceptable Information
Comedian Neal Brennan, best known for Chappelle's Show and 3 Mics, debuts Neal Brennan: Unacceptable, a new theatrical stand-up act at the Cherry Lane Theatre. Derek DelGaudio directs Brennan's darkly humorous performance in which he discusses his struggles with feelings of isolation and inadequacy. Neal Brennan: Unacceptable tickets are on sale now.
The Neal Brennan: Unacceptable comedy show sees Brennan alone on a stage furnished only with a chair and various painted wooden objects. Throughout the show, Brennan contemplates the "right" way to arrange the wooden objects on his wall, in a sort of metaphor for figuring out the "right" way for him as a person to be. He muses candidly about the difficulties of finding and giving love, fitting in with others, and accepting himself by way of comedic yet searingly honest tales from his professional and personal life. Childhood anecdotes, timely political commentary, and even some physical comedy are all part of this 75-minute show in which Brennan seeks to understand what he sees as his defects and come to terms with, or at least understand, them.
Brennan became a fixture in the comedy scene in 2003 as the co-creator of Chappelle's Show alongside Dave Chappelle. It was Comedy Central's most popular show by its second season, and Brennan became a three-time Emmy nominee for his directorial, producing, and writing work on the show. He has consistently performed standup in the Los Angeles area and appeared on multiple late-night comedy talk shows, and has written for The Academy Awards and The Daily Show among many other ventures. His 2015 comedy act 3 Mics, which Brennan developed in Los Angeles and later brought to New York, was released on Netflix in 2017 to critical acclaim.
