About Dead Outlaw

Catch this train before it leaves the station! Take a Western ride with Dead Outlaw off Broadway from February 28. This world-premiere musical brings together Tony Award winners David Cromer, David Yazbek, and Itamar Moses — the director, composer, and book writer behind the multi-Tony Award-winning Broadway hit The Band’s Visit. Get Dead Outlaw tickets on New York Theatre Guide.

Explore the colorful life and death of an infamous American criminal Elmer McCurdy in the Dead Outlaw musical. Don’t know who he is? The details might surprise you: He was a bank thief, train robber, and 20th-century outlaw dubbed The Bandit Who Wouldn't Give Up. So immortal was his life that his body was mummified and taken across the country, put on display at an Oklahoma funeral home, and showcased on the traveling carnival circuit for 40 years.

Guitarist and musician Erik Della Penna is the co-composer and lyricist alongside Yazbek, known for shows including Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Full Monty, Tootsie, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, and others. You won’t want to miss the newest score from the Emmy, Grammy, and Tony award winner.

Dead Outlaw off Broadway also marks the first new musical from Audible Theater, which presents live shows at the Minetta Lane Theatre and later releases them as audio dramas.

Buckle up for a Western thrill ride like no other. Tickets to Dead Outlaw in New York are available now.
