The Atlantic Theater Company will present The Bedwetter off-Broadway, a new musical by acclaimed comedian Sarah Silverman. The Bedwetter tickets will be available on New York Theatre Guide soon.
The Bedwetter musical is based on Silverman’s 2010 memoir of the same name. The Bedwetter sees Sarah’s ten-year-old-self as she shares stories — including one big secret that is definitely not hidden in the title — and comedic snippets of life from her childhood in New Hampshire through the end of her teenage years.
Silverman collaborated with playwright Joshua Harmon on The Bedwetter book. Harmon's recent plays include Prayer for the French Republic at New York City Center. Silverman also worked with the late Adam Schlesinger on the score, making The Bedwetter his final musical score, which is described as taking on a pop/contemporary sound.
During Silverman's career, she's hosted her own late-night show, published a memoir, and launched a podcast. Now in 2022, Silverman will make her musical debut with The Bedwetter off Broadway. David Yazbek (The Band’s Visit) provided creative consultation for Silverman throughout the writing process. Obie Award-winning director Anne Kaufman leads the production, with choreography from Byron Easley.
The Bedwetter cast will feature Caissie Levy as Beth Ann and two-time Tony-winning actress Bebe Neuwirth as Nana, with Zoe Glick as Sarah.
Tickets to The Bedwetter in New York will be available soon.
