Take Me Out was first staged at the Donmar Warehouse in London and subsequently at the Public Theater in New York as a co-production between the two companies. The Take Me Out Broadway premiere came in 2003, with Daniel Sunjata as Darren Lemming. Later that year, Joe Mantello directed Wicked, which is one of the most successful Broadway musicals of all time.
