Morrissey in Residence on Broadway
There is a Light that Never Goes Out... on Broadway!
Morrissey is set to make his Broadway debut with a seven-date residency at Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in May 2019, coinciding with the release of his upcoming album "California Son".
The evening promises "an intimate yet exciting exploration of Morrissey’s expansive career from his early days to his upcoming new record "California Son": a collection of 1960/70s classic covers". Expect Morrissey's takes on iconic songs from the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Dionne Warwick, as well as his renditions of songs from lesser known artists of that era, including early gay icon Jobriath and political activist Phil Ochs, and even collaborations with alt-rock royalty such as Green Day's Billy Joe Armstrong, Grizzly Bear's Ed Droste, and Young the Giant's Sameer Gadhia.
Another milestone in an already storied career, longtime fans of Morrissey will get a rare opportunity to see the star branch out into new territory and take the stage like never before.
