Grammy and Academy Award-winning actress and singer Melissa Etheridge will bring her new solo show, Melissa Etheridge Off Broadway: My Window - A Journey Through Life, to New York this fall. She will play 12 performances only at New World Stages, from October 13-29.

Etheridge will be returning to New York theatre for the first time since 2010, when she played St. Jimmy in Green Day's American Idiot on Broadway. Her world-premiere show combines storytelling and song as she plays her most famous songs while sharing stories from her childhood to today, including all the highs and lows of her life and career.

"I am incredibly excited and humbled to debut this deeply personal show in New York this fall," Etheridge said. "While I've been telling my life stories through my lyrics and concert tours for many years, this is going to be something new for me. I cannot wait to feel the exchange of energy and deep connection that's provided by an intimate theatre experience. That's going to rock."

Etheridge's greatest hits from her two-decade-plus career include "I'm the Only One" and "I Want to Come Over." Her songs "Come to My Window" and "Ain't It Heavy" won her Grammy Awards (she's been nominated an additional 13 times), and she won a 2007 Oscar for writing "I Need to Wake Up" for the movie An Inconvenient Truth. She has become renowned worldwide for her distinctive folk-rock sound. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Amy Tinkham directs Melissa Etheridge Off Broadway, which features additional material by Linda Wallem-Etheridge. The creative team also includes scenic designer Bruce Rodgers, lighting designer Abigail Rosen Holmes, projection designer Olivia Sebesky, and sound designer Colle Bustin.
