Krapp, 39 extends for a fourth time

Darren Lee Cole Theatricals presentation of Krapp, 39, written and performed by Michael Laurence and directed by George Demas, has extended its run for a fourth time, and will now play through to 2 Aug 2009.

The play opened at the Soho Playhouse on 22 Jan 2009, following previews from 13 Jan, were it was originally scheduled to close on 15 Mar 2009.

Krapp, 39: A voyeuristic prefiguring of Samuel Becketts 'Krapps Last Tape,' and a deeply personal window on one mans last moment of youth. Reeling on his 39th birthday, an actors obsessive identification with Becketts famous character compels him to examine his own quixotic life and failures. His self-scrutiny plays out through intimate audio tapes, archival video, raw journal entries, haunted letters, racy confessions, and recorded conversations with the living and the lost.

Originally produced by Cliplight Theater, this production of Krapp, 39 follows an award winning run at The 2008 New York International Fringe Festival and a celebrated extension in the Fringe Encore Series.

Laurence played the role of 'Stu Noonan' in the Broadway production of Eric Bogosians 'Talk Radio' (2007). Some other notable credits: Michael Hollingers 'Opus' at Primary Stages and the 2008 Off-Broadway revival of Lee Blessing's 'Two Rooms.'
