4000 miles extends run for a second time

Lincoln Center Theater's production of Amy Herzog's 4000 Miles has extended its run for a second time and will now play through to 1 Jul 2012.

4000 Miles opened at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater on 2 Apr 2012, following previews from 15 Mar 2012, and was originally scheduled to close on 20 May 2012.

The production opened to mostly excellent reviews: Truthful and touching and fine (NY Times); A quiet triumph (Back Stage); A gentle and beautiful play that is gently and beautifully performed (newsroom Jersey).

4000 Miles tells the story of 21 year-old 'Leo' who, after losing his best friend while they were on a cross-country bike trip, seeks solace from his feisty, Communist grandmother in her West Village apartment.

The show, directed by Daniel Aukin, stars Gabriel Ebert (Leo), Greta Lee (Amanda), Mary Louise Wilson Vera) and Zoe Winters (Bec).

The creative team features sets by Lauren Helpern, costumes by Kaye Voyce, lighting by Japhy Weideman and sound by Ryan Rumery.

4000 Miles had it's world premiere as part of the Lincoln Center Theater's LCT3 programme when it played at The Duke Theatre in 2011.
