What the critics had to say.....

BEN BRENTLEY of the NEW YORK TIMES says “Tight, absorbing and expertly acted new drama by John Patrick Shanley.”
CLIVE BARNES of NEW YORK POST says "No doubt about "Doubt" — it is a great evening in the theater."
HOWARD KISSEL of NEW YORK DAILY NEWS says “It is the richest piece of theater we've had in years.”
ELYSA GARDNER of USA TODAY says "The playwright avoids pedantry by presenting the search for truth and virtue as a complicated and not-always-pretty task." LINDA WINER of NEWSDAY says "Not every triumphant play or musical can transfer to Broadway without losing the special something that knocked us out in a more intimate space. "Doubt," has moved from the Manhattan Theatre Club with every nuance and its radiant cast intact."
MICHAEL SOMMERS of STAR-LEDGER says "Altogether a thrilling experience, "Doubt" is one of the best plays to hit Broadway in years. Shame on anybody who claims to love "good theater" and doesn't see it."
MICHAEL KUCHWARA of Associated Press says "The play is only 90 minutes long, but it packs a lot into that hour and a half. There isn't a wasted word in the script, which not only tells a compelling story but puts four distinct, finely drawn characters on stage."
