'The Producers':
John Treacy Eagan to play Max Bialystock
Jai Rodriguez to play Carmen Ghia

John Treacy Egan will become the newest Max Bialystock on Broadway, beginning the 25 Oct 2005. Jai Rodriguez, returns to Broadway, stepping into the role of 'Carmen Ghia', beginning the 1 Nov 2005.

John Treacy Egan, who currently plays 'Franz Liebkind,' joined the Broadway company in May of 2002. As 'Max' understudy, he has performed the role numerous times. Mr Egan was an original company member of Jekyll and Hyde (Atlantic Recordings/Broadway Television Networks). He has toured in productions of Cats and Kiss Me Kate. Off-Broadway, John created roles in Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly! (RCA Recordings), and Bat Boy The Musical.

Jai Rodriguez returns to Broadway where he performed the role of 'Angel' in Rent. He also performed in the off-Broadway hit, Zanna Don't, and appeared in the acclaimed concert version of Hair (also on recording). For three seasons, Jai has been the popular culture maven on the groundbreaking reality television show, "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" on the Bravo network. Jai will also appear in the upcoming film version of The Producers

The Producers opened on the 19 Apr 2001 at St James Theatre, following previews from the 21 Mar 2001 and is currently booking up to the 22 Jan 2006.

It's the story of a couple of guys who come up with a scheme to produce the outrageous Broadway musical ever. They think they can take off with all their investors' money-but when the curtain goes up on their gigantic singing, dancing spectacular, they realize their plan has gone ridiculously wrong.

The show opened to rave reviews, and went on to win an incredible twelve Tony Awards in 2001, making the show the recipient of the most Tony Awards in theater history.

The Producers currently stars Brad Oscar (Max Bialystock), Hunter Foster (Leo Bloom), Gary Beach (Roger DeBris), John Treacy Eagan (Franz Liebkind), Brad Musgrove (Carmen Ghia) andAngie Schworer (Ulla).

The show has music & Lyrics by Mel Brooks, Book by Mel Brooks & Tom Meehan, and is directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman. It has sets by Robin Wagner, costumes by William Ivey Long, lighting by Peter Kaczorowski and sound by Steve Kennedy
