Lesli Margherita is set to star in Who's Holiday!
Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita will star as Cindy Lou Who in the world premiere of Matthew Lombardo's comedy in couplets Who's Holiday! - a parody based on Dr, Seuss' "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas". Directed by Carl Andress, the 6-week limited engagement begins previews at the Westside Theatre on November 20, 2017, before officially opening on November 28 and running through to December 31, 2017.
Synopsis: "Who's Holiday! tells the story of a middle-aged Cindy Lou Who, now residing in a beaten down trailer in the snowy hills of Mount Crumpit. As she prepares to host a Christmas Eve party for her friends, she recalls from her own perspective that fated night when she first met the Grinch, and the strange turn of events her life has taken for the past 40 years. Lombardo's hysterically funny, wildly irreverent, and heartfelt parody is an absolute must-see for adult theatre-goers this holiday season!"
The creative team behind Who's Holiday! features scenic design by David Gallo, costume design by Jess Goldstein, lighting design by Ken Billington, sound design by Bart Fasbender and wig design by Charles LaPointe.
Who's Holiday! was originally scheduled to play a festive engagement at New World Stages in 2016, but was forced to cancel due to a rights dispute with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, L.P., which has since been resolved in court.
Who's Holiday! is produced off-Broadway by Gene Fisch, Jr., Jason Shaw, Scott & Jenny Beck in association with Foresight Theatrical.
Lesli Margherita won an Olivier Award in 2009 for her West End debut as Inez in 'Zorro'. On Broadway, she originated the roles of Mrs. Wormwood in 'Matilda' and Mona Kent in 'Dames at Sea'.
