According to The New York Post, Sherwood Forrest's favorite son may be heading back to the Great White Way. The world premiere production of Hood: The Robin Hood Musical Adventure, currently playing at Dallas Theater Center, has its eyes reportedly set on a Broadway transfer.

The musical, which features a book by Tony nominee Douglas Carter Beane and music & lyrics by his husband Lewis Flinn, is a prequel to the popular Robin Hood legend.

Beane stated in an interview with our affiliate partner

"We always want our work to be done by anybody. It's geared to go anywhere. I do think it would do very well in New York."
Beane is also at the helm of the Dallas Theater Center world premiere, directing a host of Broadway alumni. The cast of Hood: The Robin Hood Musical Adventure includes Alysha Umphress, Ashley Park, Austin Scott, Chris Ramirez, Luke Longacre, Beth Lipton, Tiana Kaye Johnson, Ian Ferguson, Billie Aken-Tyers, Nick Bailey, Jacob ben Widmar and Ricco Fajardo.

The DTC production began previews on June 29, 2017, before an official openening on July 7 and a limited engagement through to August 6.

Douglas Carter Beane previously collaborated with Lewis Flinn on the 2011 Broadway musical 'Lysistrata Jones,' as well as the 2006 play 'The Little Dog Laughed' (for which Flinn provided original music). Beane earned Tony nominations for 'Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella' (2013), 'Lysistrata Jones' (2012), 'Sister Act' (2011), 'Xanadu' (2008) and 'The Little Dog Laughed' (2007). He also wrote the 2013 Broadway play 'The Nance.'
