20-time Grammy Award-winning Rock 'n' Roll legend Bruce Springsteen will officially make his Broadway debut in Springsteen on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre from October 3, 2017. An official opening is set for October 12, with the limited 5-show-per-week engagement playing through to November 26, 2017.

Springsteen on Broadway is billed as "a solo acoustic performance written and performed by Bruce Springsteen under the lights of Broadway. It is an intimate night with Bruce, his guitar, a piano, and his stories."

Mr. Springsteen released the following statement:

“I wanted to do some shows that were as personal and as intimate as possible. I chose Broadway for this project because it has the beautiful old theaters which seemed like the right setting for what I have in mind. In fact, with one or two exceptions, the 960 seats of the Walter Kerr Theatre is probably the smallest venue I’ve played in the last 40 years. My show is just me, the guitar, the piano and the words and music. Some of the show is spoken, some of it is sung. It loosely follows the arc of my life and my work. All of it together is in pursuit of my constant goal to provide an entertaining evening and to communicate something of value.”
Jordan Roth, President of Jujamcyn Theaters (owners of the Walter Kerr Theatre) added:
“Bruce Springsteen is one of our greatest musical storytellers, and Broadway is built on a beloved tradition of musical storytelling. What a once-in-a lifetime thrill for all of us at Jujamcyn to welcome Bruce home to his rightful place in the Broadway legacy.”
The creative team behind Springsteen on Broadway features scenic design by Heather Wolensky, lighting design by Natasha Katz, and sound design by Brian Ronan.

Bruce Springsteen's career as a musician has spanned over 40 years. In that time, he has won a grand total of 20 Grammy Awards, and was even awarded an Oscar and a Golden Globe in 1994 for "Streets of Philadelphia" in the category of "Best Original Song" for the film "Philadelphia." He also earned an Oscar nomination in 1996 for "Dead Man Walkin'" and a Golden Globe nomination in 2009 for "The Wrestler." He has released 18 studio albums to date and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1999.
