Although our time was brief, we recently caught up with a Broadway legend - two-time Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole - who is currently starring alongside fellow two-time Tony winner Patti LuPone in the Broadway premiere of War Paint at the Nederlander Theatre.

Ms. Ebersole won Tony Awards for her performances in 42nd Street (2001) and Grey Gardens (2007). Her Tony nominations include her current role of Elizabeth Arden in War Paint, as well as Dinner at Eight (2003). Other Broadway credits include the 2009 revival of Blithe Spirit, the 2005 premiere of Steel Magnolias, the 2000 revival of Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Getting Away With Murder (1996), Harrigan 'n Hart (1985), Camelot (1980), Oklahoma! (1979), On the Twentieth Century (1978) and her Broadway debut as Nancy in Angel Street in 1976.

Here's what Ms. Ebersole had to say in brief:

Thomas Hayden Millward: How has the whole experience been for you so far, Ms. Ebersole, working on this production and working with Patti LuPone?

Christine Ebersole: Itís been so much fun! Iíve just been having a blast! And when youíre doing eight shows a week, youíve got to love it! And youíve got to love the people in order to get through it because thatís a lot of work!

THM: My favourite scene comes towards the end of War Paint when the audience finally gets to see you and Ms. LuPone confront each other face-to-face as Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubinstein. What is your favourite scene to perform?

CE: HmmmmÖ My favourite scene is the whole show! (Laughs)

THM: Is it a bit like me asking you to choose between your children?

CE: (Laughs) Exactly! No, itís really like you just get on the train and go along for the ride and each place has a new vista.
