A View from the Bridge: more cast announced

Jessica Hecht, Michael Cristofer, Santino Fontana and Corey Stoll are set to join the cast of Arthur Miller’s A View From The Bridge, directed by Gregory Mosher.

They will be joined by the previously announced Tony Award-winner Liev Schreiber and Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson, in her Broadway debut.

Recently seen in Tony Kushner’s The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures, Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning playwright, Michael Cristofer will play the role of ‘Alfieri.’ Recently seen in Neil Simon’s 'Brighton Beach Memoirs,' Santino Fontana and Jessica Hecht will play the roles of ‘Rodolfo’ and ‘Beatrice,’ respectively. Drama Desk nominee Corey Stoll (Intimate Apparel) will play the role of ‘Marco.’

A View From The Bridge will open at the Cort Theatre on 24 Jan 2010, following previews from 28 Dec 2009, and will play a limited 14 week engagement through to 4 Apr 2010.

A View From The Bridge: Dockworker Eddie Carbone (Liev Schreiber) has made a good life for himself and his wife and niece in 1950's Brooklyn. As a former immigrant himself, Eddie is happy to house and protect his wife's Italian cousins who arrive illegally in pursuit of the 'American Dream'. What Eddie doesn't know is that this act of kindness will have a shattering effect on his whole life, and the lives of those he loves.

The creative team for A View From The Bridge will include John Lee Beatty (Scenic Design), Jane Greenwood (Costume Design), Peter Kaczorowski (Lighting Design), and Scott Lehrer (Sound Design).

A View From The Bridge will be produced on Broadway by Stuart Thompson and The Araca Group. Additional producers include Jeffrey Finn, Sonia Friedman, The Weinstein Company and Olympus Theatricals.
