Outer Critics Circle 2007-08 Award Winners

The winners of the Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators covering New York theater for out-of-town newspapers, were announced on 12 May 2007.
'August: Osage County' won the Outstanding New Broadway Play Award and won in a further two categories. The Award for Outstanding New Broadway Musical was tied between 'Young Frankenstein' & 'Xanadu,' but it was South Pacific which was the most decorated show of the evening winning in four categories, including Outstanding Revival of a Musical.
'Dividing the Estate' was named Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play, and 'Adding Machine' won the award for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play.
Though Young Frankenstein tied with Xanadu for the Award for 'Outstanding New Broadway Musical,' there was also disappointment for the production, having been nominated in 11 categories, more then anyshow, it walked away with just the one prize.
Les Liaisons Dangereuses, which was the second most nominated show, being named in 9 categories, also received just the one award.
The awards will be presented at a ceremony on the 22 May 2007 at Sardi's Restaurant.

Rachow (Treasurer) Glenn Loney (Historian & Member-at-Large), Rosalind Friedman (Recording Secretary) and Aubrey Reuben & Thomas Gentile (Members-at-Large).
Note: The new musical 'Glory Days' was the only Broadway production the Nominating Committee did not get to see prior to the Award cut-off date and therefore will consider the production for next season’s awards. 'In The Heights' was already considered last season and won Outstanding Off Broadway musical.
