Grace - Lynn Redgrave to star

Lynn Redgrave is to star in MCC Theater's New York premiere production of Mick Gordon and AC Grayling’s Grace, playing at the Lucille Lortel Theatre from 23 Jan - 8 Mar 2008.

Lynn Redgrave was last seen in New York when she played Mrs. Culver in the Roundabout's Broadway revival of 'The Constant Wife' (2005), for which she was nominated for a 2006 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play. She was previously nominated for a Tony for 'Shakespeare for My Father' (1993), which she both wrote and starred in, and again for 'Mrs Warren's Profession' (1976).

Redgrave has received many Award nominations for her film work, and has won two Golden Globe Awards, the first for 'Gods and Monsters' (1998), and the second for 'Georgy Girl' (1956). She will next be seen on film in the movie 'The Jane Austen Book Club', which goes on general release on 21 Sep 2007.

Grace (Lynn Redgrave), is a noted scientist and avowed atheist, her son Tom, a lawyer, is planning to become a Christian minister. When tragedy strikes, Grace becomes even more obstinate and Tom's father and pregnant fiancée are caught in the crossfire.

Grace is the second production in MCC Theater's 2007 - 2008 season which will also include:

  • Spain, by Jim Knable, directed by Jeremy Dobrish.

  • The Black Suits, a musical with score and lyrics by Joe Iconis, and libretto by Joe Iconis and Robert Maddock. Directed by Trip Cullman.

    Dates: 23 Jan - 8 Mar 2008

    Synopsis:The story of a troubled Long Island teen itching to escape what he fears will be a life of regret and unfulfilled promise, The Black Suits follows the exploits of a rockin’ garage band during a pivotal summer on their journey to adulthood.
