Naked Boys Singing to end its long run on 28 Jan 2012

Naked Boys Singing!

The Off-Broadway revue, Naked Boys Singing! will end its twelve year run on 28 Jan 2012, after 3,069 performances.

Naked Boys Singing! began its Off-Broadway run when it opened at the Actors Playhouse on 22 Jul 1999. The show is currently performing at New World Stages - Stage 2 where it transferred on 14 Oct 2005.

Though the show is ending its Off-Broadway run, the London production is now in its second year, and a new production in Sydney, Australia, among others, are anticipated later this year.

Naked Boys Singing!: The title says it all! Caution - and costumes are thrown to the wind in this outrageous musical revue featuring an original score of 16 songs and a cast of 8 guys. A handful of hunks display their special charms as they celebrate the splendors of male nudity in comedy, song and dance.

The show is directed and was conceived by Robert Schrock, and choreographed by Jeffry Denman. The revue was written by Schrock and a team of 12 writers -- Stephen Bates, Marie Cain, Perry Hart, Shelly Markham, Jim Morgan, David Pevsner, Rayme Sciaroni, Mark Savage, Ben Schaechter, Trance Thompson, Mark Winkler and two-time Emmy Award winner Bruce Vilanch.

Naked Boys Singing! is produced by Jamie Cesa, Carl D. White, Hugh Hayes, and Tom Smedes.

The film version, now available on DVD, was released in 2008 by TLA Releasing and Funny Boy Films.
