'Awake And Sing!: full cast announced
Lauren Ambrose to make Broadway debut

Lincoln Center Theater have announced the full cast for their production of Clifford Odets' classic drama Awake And Sing!, directed by Bartlett Sher, which will open at the Belasco Theatre on the 17 Apr 2006, following previews from the 23 Mar.

The play will feature Lauren Ambrose, Ned Eisenberg, Ben Gazzara, Jonathan Hadary, Peter Kybart, Pablo Schreiber, Richard Topol and Zoe Wanamaker.

Lauren Ambrose, well known to television audiences for her portrayal of Claire Fisher in the HBO series Six Feet Under, will be making her New York stage debut in Awake And Sing!. Last year, on the London stage, Ms. Ambrose co-starred in the National Theatre's production of Sam Shepard's Buried Child, directed by Matthew Warchus.

Zoe Wanamaker received Tony nominations for her performances on Broadway in Electra, Loot and Piaf. The daughter of American actor Sam Wanamaker, Miss Wanamaker is one of England's leading actresses.

Awake And Sing! is the story of a Jewish family in the Bronx who have fallen on hard times during the Depression.

The Belasco is the theatre that Awake And Sing! had its world premiere in 1935. The production is to celebrate playwright Clifford Odets' Centenary.

Lincoln Center Theater's production of Awake And Sing! will reunite The Light in the Piazza director Barlett Sher with that musical's Tony Award winning design team - set designer Michael Yeargan, costume designer Catherine Zuber and lighting designer Christopher Akerlind.
