A Hard Heart at Theatre Row's Clurman Theatre

Epic Theatre Ensemble (formerly Epic Theatre Center) have announced that Kathleen Chalfant will star in their presentation of A Hard Heart, by Howard Barker, directed by Will Pomerantz, opening at Theatre Row's Clurman Theatre on 11 Nov 2007, following previews from 30 Oct and running through to 2 Dec 2007.
A Hard Heart explores the ways we protect our political and human borders. Barker’s drama imagines a country facing invasion. ‘Praxis’ the Queen enlists the Genius ‘Riddler’ (Chalfant) to devise a strategy to protect their threatened culture, but is the sacrifice too much?
The complete casting, design team and performance schedule for A Hard Heart will be announced shortly. Tickets will go on sale on 23 Aug 2007.
Kathleen Chalfant was nominated for a Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her work in 'Angels in America: Millennium Approaches', (1993), her other Broadway credits are 'M. Butterfly' (1988), 'Angels in America: Perestroika' (1993) and 'Racing Demon' (1995). Chalfant was recently seen Off-Broadway playing 'love' in 'Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell' which closed on 26 Jun 2007.
