Half Life, by Robert Moulthrop, will make its debut as part of the NY International Fringe Festival from the 13 - 27 Aug 2005 at the Flea Theater.

The two-act drama, directed by Teresa K. Pond, examines the fallout from a devastating classroom incident that explodes a family and a community. Husband, wife, daughter and best friends come to terms with the aftermath of the devastation. "He's a good teacher; he's served his prison time for touching that girl; I just want everything to be the same," says his wife.

Says playwright Moulthrop, "At my worst moments, my bad internal voices intoned, 'Who will want to see a play about a pedophile?' I'm glad I persevered, because ultimately, the play is about relationships – about love, forgiveness and the pootent effect of denial. The play is about marriage, about husbands and wives, about fathers and mothers and daughters, about the true meaning of friendship, about secrets. But it is also, of course, about a pedophile – charming, engaging and, because of that, doubly dangerous."

Featured in the cast are Anna Chlumsky, Cynthia Foster*, Michele Fulves*, Cameron Hughes & Mark Lynch*. (*Equity Showcase)
