'The Safety Net' at the Michael Weller Theatre

Broken Watch Theatre Company present The Safety Net, by Christopher Kyle, at the newly named Michael Weller Theatre - formerly The Sande Shurin Theatre - opening on the 22 Sep 2005, following previews from the 16 Sep 2005 and running through to the 2 Oct 2005

In the wake of his adopted brother's death, David discovers how far he will go to save his brother's family. Neglecting his own marriage and a promising law career, he returns to his Midwest home to uncover the secrets of his brother's past. Exploring the themes of race and class The Safety Net explores the true definition of family and what makes us who we are; birth parents? the parents who raised us? or the family we create for ourselves?

The Safety Net cast, directed by Martha Banta, features: Jason Pugatch (Inky, Where We're Born), Tinashe Kajese (The God Brothers), Eva Kaminsky (NT of Syringa Tree), (Seattle Rep), Peggy Scott (FX's Rescue Me) and Mark Setlock (Rent, Fully Committed).

The Safety Net has set design by J. Wiese, costume design by Cora Levin, lighting design by Miriam Nilofa Crowe and sound design by Jil B.C DuBoff.
