Our Town: Jason Butler Harner to succeed
David Cromer in the role of ‘Stage Manager’

Obie Award-winner Jason Butler Harner will assume the role of ‘Stage Manager’ in the Off-Broadway production of’ Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, directed by David Cromer, from 25 Aug 2009.

Harner will succeed David Cromer who departs the company to begin rehearsals for his Broadway directorial debut this fall with Neil Simon’s 'Brighton Beach Memoirs' and 'Broadway Bound.'

Jason Butler Harner played the role of 'Ivan Turgenev' in the multi-Tony award-winning Tom Stoppard trilogy of plays, 'The Coast of Utopia '(Lincoln Center Theatre). In 2005 he wwon an Obie Award for his performance as 'Tesman' in 'Hedda Gabler,' opposite Elizabeth Marvel (New York Theatre Workshop).

Our Town opened at the Barrow Street Theatre on 26 Feb 2009, following previews from 17 Feb, where it is now booking through to 31 Jan 2010.

The show opened to mostly positive reviews: "modest but highly rewarding" (NY Times); 'riveting new production' (NY Daily News); 'wonderful' (NY Post); "Astonishingly reinvented" (AP).

The cast of Our Town currently features David Cromer as the Stage Manager, Jeremy Beiler as 'Sam Craig,' Rob Beitzel as 'Howie Newsome,' Kati Brazda as 'Mrs. Webb,' George Demas as 'Constable Warren,' Donna Jay Fulks as 'Mrs. Soames,' Jennifer Grace as 'Emily,' Wilbur Edwin Henry as 'Professor Willard,' Adam Hinkle as 'Joe Crowell,' Ronete Levenson as 'Rebecca Gibbs,' James McMenamin as 'George,' Ken Marks as 'Editor Webb,' Jonathan Mastro as 'Simon Stimson,' Seamus Mulcahy as 'Wally Webb,' Lori Myers as 'Mrs. Gibbs,' Jay Russell as 'Joe Stoddard,' Jeff Still as 'Doc Gibbs' and Jason Yachanin as 'Si Crowell.'.

The creative team for Our Town features Michele Spadaro (set design and props), Alison Siple (costume design) and Heather Gilbert (lighting design).
